It’s Time For A Winter Makeover

Looking Your Best

This is the perfect time of year to reassess your hair care, skin care, and make-up beauty options.

Just like updating your wardrobe, updating your makeup look each season, keeps you looking great all the time!

Tips: Foundation has a double mission: to protect and correct! It acts like clothing. Protects your skin against the elements. Gives the illusion of perfect skin. Can camouflage an uneven complexion.

Be sure to adapt your foundation shade to the season such as lighter shade in the fall/winter.

For a smoother application of foundation, always apply moisturizer first.

When you can’t decide which foundation shade to choose, opt for the darker shade.

Looking Your Best

*You never want to leave home without looking your best. Always dress to impress.

*Wear clothes that make you feel good and confident.

*When is the last time you cleaned out your closet? Ask yourself 2 questions. Is it going to make me feel good? Do I love it? If not get rid of it, make room for clothes that make you feel and look good.

*What lies beneath your clothes are important.

*Wear a body shapers everyday. You do not want to ruin a perfectly good outfit. There are several different body shapers to choose from, I prefer Spanx. Nordstroms had an annual sale in July or go to www.spanx.com. There is a lower price Spanx called Assets by Sara Blakely, available at Target. www.loveassets.com  and other good one is Barely There Comfort Shapers Thigh Shaper in Firm Control $20 www.barelythere.com. There are so many others you can choose from at different prices.

*As you age so does your feet, take good care of your feet. Wear proper fitting shoes. Exfoliate with a pumice stone everyday.

*Skin care is so important. You must cleanse and moisturize twice a day. Proper moisturizing is a critical part of achieving great looking skin. Use a mask at least once a week. Not only will it treat your skin, it will give you a chance to pamper yourself and relax. Foundation is part of your skin care. Never go to bed without cleansing and moisturizing your face.

*You want to exfoliate 2-3 times a week to fight fine lines, for smooth skin. Exfoliate your face, neck, chest and the back of you hands. Use a body scrub once or several times a week.

*You must wear foundation which is part of your skin care. You can use a powder to set your foundation and makeup. A concealer is a must to brighten under eye area. Try eyeliner, mascara and blush for uplift.

*Exercise 30 minutes, 3-5 days a week. You can exercise for 10 minutes 3 times a day. Having a balanced diet and drinking plenty water contributes to looking good. The more you hydrate your body with water, the higher your energy level with be. Fresh squeezed lemon or line can add a great flavor. You need six to eight 8-ounce glasses of water daily.

*Style plays a big role in what you exercise in. When you are wearing things that are more flattering, you are more motivated to work out. Layering is a huge trend for spring. Stay away from anything oversized. Look for fitted and slimmer silhouettes.

You Deserve the Best

You deserve to be afforded the protection of going to a professional who had both the theory and practical training in the proper use of the chemicals and devices used.

The reason for any state to require a license for any profession is to set standards that will protect the public from harm.

In the cosmetology field, this means that the consumer can be assured that a licensed professional will have both theoretical and practical experience on the safety and sanitation issues related to hair care and styling.
