Salon 21 has been servicing, inspiring and educating women worldwide on beauty and wellness since 1987.

 

As a business owner, educator, hairstylist and mentor, Michelle's artistic vision has ensured a successful career. Salon 21, a hair, makeup and healthy lifestyle salon, specializes in all phases of hair care, contemporary hair designs, facial waxing, and make-over's for the well-groomed woman

 

Salon 21, it’s a name that has come to stand for innovation and quality in the world of beauty. From the beginning, Salon 21 has been the leader, producing an 8-page newsletter, all you can be campaigns and a healthy lifestyle festival.

 

Salon 21 offers hair care services, classes (consumer & beauty professional) and beauty products from Matte lipsticks, shampoos and conditioners to satin pillowcases, caps and wraps..

 

In 1994, Michelle established The Wellness Group, a non-profit 501c(3) health awareness organization. Their mission is to educate, inform and empower women on breast cancer and a healthy lifestyle.

 

Michelle has been recognized by many for her commitment to beauty and wellness. She was recently highlighted in Who’s Who in Black Los Angeles. Photographer Valerie Goodloe featured Michelle in an exhibit of African American leaders of Los Angeles. Other organizations to recognize Michelle are:  Kizure Products; the AHBAI/American Health and Beauty Aids Institute; BMW and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; NAWBO/The National Association of Women Business Owners-LA; the ABWE/Association of Black Women Entrepreneurs and Ideal Black Gold Beauty Expo awarded the Industry Award for Favorite Cosmetologist in Los Angeles.  Michelle has served as a mentor for MOSTE/Motivating Our Students Through Experience, and was honored as "Mentor of the Year".  She is an active 14-year member of Black Women’s Network.

 

A native of Muncie, Indiana.  Michelle relocated to Los Angeles in 1978 and held a position at Hughes Aircraft Company, now known as Raytheon Company before she ventured into the beauty industry.  She believes her success stems from her Christian faith and the tremendous support that she received from her late husband of twenty years, Richard L. Bell.  She is an active member of West Angeles Church of God in Christ and serves on the Board of Directors.
