Celebrating A Beauty Icon

 

In celebration of Black Beauty & History Month, I salute one of the leaders of the black hair care industry, Madam C.J. Walker.

A philanthropist and social activist during the early 1900s. Madam Walker is often described as a role model among women, becoming the nation’s first self made female millionaire. As she told it, she went from “washerwoman to business mogul after building an empire on hair care products for black women.”

As a beauty professional I pledge to continue to empower women. I am commit to continue as a producer in my community. My mission is to inspire and empower women of all ages to know they have the power to change their environment.
